Awareness of MRE & Its Importance
ROEQ is committed to increasing awareness around the role of Mobile Robotic Equipment (MRE) –the top rollers/conveyors, cart solutions, lifters, rack solutions, and software that make mobile robot deployments possible.
We are also working to try to correct the widespread misconception that AMRs on their own are complete solutions, ready-to-go out of the box. And we’re getting the important message out that due to performance, long-term cost, safety and compatibility issues, there are good reasons why designing your own MRE is to be avoided. Overview of ROEQ Products

The software loads pre-coded missions into the MiR robot, which can then be modified in the MIR interface, resulting in quick and consistent application deployments for robust AMR setups throughout the facility.
ROEQ Assist software has gone through years of development, closely following the progress of MIR’s AMR technology platform along the way. For example, pre-defined footprints in ROEQ Assist ensure that the footprint of your AMR deployment is correct and it chooses the right safety zones, which are also part of the ROEQ package, so that your robot can navigate safely on its missions.
CAPTION: GuardCom connects directly to your ROEQ top roller and to the stationary conveyor station. The communication between GuardCom and the MiR AMR is based on proven, robust sensor technology.
GuardCom is ROEQ’s innovative solution for improving safety and performance when transferring goods from an autonomous mobile robot to a conveyor station. It works together with the ROEQ Top Roller modules and uses coded light sensors to ensure a safe transfer of goods, rather than traditional, unreliable WIFI-based communications. Earlier this year, GuardCom was honored to be included in Robotics Business Review’s RBR50 Robotics Innovation Awards, which celebrates forward thinking companies and the original, impactful solutions they have created.
AMR Sector Growth
Rising demand for retail e-commerce –a phenomenon that predates but was definitely exacerbated by the pandemic– is a major factor driving adoption of AMR technology and the MRE that goes with it. But what are the numbers?
Retail e-commerce sales in the U.S. are predicted to increase this year by 13.7% to USD908.73 billion, according to a recent report from eMarketer. This is on top of last year’s 18% growth. As more goods and packages need to be transported throughout manufacturing and warehouse facilities, more opportunities for AMR deployments arise.
The global market for AMRs, valued at USD 1.9 billion in 2019, is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 19.6% from 2020 to 2027, according to a 2021 report from market analysts Grand View Research.
Denmark’s Robotics Cluster
A combination of excellent engineering training and education, along with smart government innovation support strategies, the success of Universal Robots, and a tradition of ingenuity have helped the city of Odense, Denmark to become a world-leading hub for robotics research and development.

During the interview with Robotics & Automation News I mentioned that ROEQ is planning new product releases this year. ROEQ’s TML200 Top Module with matching accessories is the first of these new releases and the latest addition to our Top Module Lifter family.
The TML200 is a complete system designed to work seamlessly with the MiR250 from Mobile Industrial Robots. It creates exciting deployment possibilities for MiR250 users since it can lift and transport crates, pallets, racks and even shelf carts to easily pre-defined locations.
